Spiritual Blessing In Christ

  1. INTRODUCTION:

    1. SCRIPTURE READING: Ephesians 1:1-6 = "Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself,
      according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.      "

      2. Comment: The subject is taken from verse three.

    2. LET’S TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT SOME OF THESE BLESSINGS IN CHRIST.

  2. DISCUSSION: WHAT ARE THESE BLESSINGS?

    1. NO CONDEMNATION. Romans 8:1 = "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."
    2. FORGIVENESS.

      3. Ephesians 1:7 = "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"

      Colossians 1:14 = "In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:"

    3. SALVATION. 2 Timothy 2:10 = "Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory."
    4. TO WALK IN THE LIGHT.

      5. Ephesians 5:8 = "For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:"

      Comment: This is the light of the knowledge of God’s glorious gospel of Christ.

      2 Corinthians 4:4-6 = "In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."

    5. G0D’S LOVE. Romans 8:39 = "Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
    6. HOPE. 1 Thessalonians 1:3 = "Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;"
    7. PEACE. 1 Peter 5:14 = "Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen."
    8. REST.

      9. Matthew 11:28 = "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

      Revelation 14:13 = "And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them."

    9. VICTORY. 2 Corinthians 2:14 = "Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place."
    10. INHERITANCE. Galatians 3:29 = "And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."
    11. ETERNAL GLORY.
      1. 2 Timothy 2:10 = "Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory."
      2. John 17:24 = "Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world."

  3. CONCLUSION:

    1. ONLY THOSE IN CHRIST WILL RECEIVE THESE BLESSINGS.
    2. YOU TOO CAN BE IN CHRIST AND RECEIVE THESE BLESSINGS AND THE 
      GLORIOUS GOSPEL OF GOD TELLS US HOW:
      1. Hear.

        2. John 6:45 = "It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me."

        Romans 10:17 = "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

      2. Believe. Romans 10:10 = "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
      3. Repent.

        4. Acts 2:38 = "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

        Luke 13:3 = "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

      4. Confess. Romans 10:10 = "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
      5. Baptism.

      Romans 6:3-4 = "Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."

      Galatians 3:27 = "For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ."
